Our Strawberries program is designed for four-year-olds ready for a comprehensive pre-K experience. We offer 3, 4, and 5-day pre-K programs that promote independence and group collaboration.

During this final year of preschool, children’s portfolios become more detailed as they develop the essential skills needed for a smooth transition to kindergarten. Activities focus on communication, critical thinking, and teamwork. Our full-day pre-K program is available at our East location from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, providing an enriching environment with accredited early childhood education curriculm  for extended learning and growth.

Learn more about The Berry Patch’s Curriculum for the Whole Child!

We have our own music teacher who holds weekly music classes for all age groups. Our music specialist will lead our classrooms with the “Music Together” Play Along for Classrooms Curriculum. They get to explore a variety of instruments in these weekly classes.

While your child engages in rich music experiences at school, your whole family will be able to participate with fantastic at-home resources that will be provided by The Berry Patch. Be sure to visit when your children perform Christmas and end-of-year concerts.

Our students will participate in a monthly Spanish class taught by our Spanish Specialist. Children will develop a foundation of basic Spanish phrases through music and movement. They are immersed in Spanish once a month for 20-30 minutes, depending on age. Our classes empower children to acquire the language by natural comprehension and communication through games, music and other fun activities. You will receive a monthly Spanish newsletter letting you know what your child is learning and activities you can do at home. We will also offer Afternoon Spanish Classes for Strawberries, beginning in October.

Fundamental to the love of learning is rich exposure to books and reading throughout the early years. We are committed to this in all of our classrooms on a daily basis. Children visit their school library weekly with their classroom teacher to explore and check out their own book!

We believe field trips are an important component to our program. They give the children opportunities to explore their communities and expand their surroundings. Our Blueberries and Strawberries take field trips throughout the year to locations related to our monthly themes, and special guests are invited in to share their expertise about the subjects we are studying.

Another way we help your student pursue a holistic education is through our outreach program, Children Serving Others (CSO). This program allows children to learn the importance of reaching out to others in our community and around the world through service projects. Our objective with CSO is to help each child learn to become other-focused, rather than self-focused.

As a Berry Patch family, you have access to a licensed Parent and Family Educator as part of the program. We are delighted to have Becky Danielson, M.Ed., on staff and available to you for one-on-one conversations, and both small and large group discussions at no additional charge. The monthly parent and family education newsletter is a wonderful resource for parents too.

Attending Camp Sizzleberry is an exciting way for current students, incoming students and children who live in the area to enjoy a dynamic summer experience. This camp is staffed by our exceptional teachers who love and nurture children throughout the school year and look forward to creating new and fun programs for the summer. I have been teaching at The Berry Patch since 2004, and absolutely love getting to know the children and families I serve. Outside of teaching Strawberries, I am a yoga instructor. I work with high school athletes. I enjoy spending time with my family (especially my dog) during my free time.

Hi I’m Lisa. I joined The Berry Patch team in 2020 and thrilled to be a Strawberry teacher. I have a B.A in Business Management from Bethel College and I have a graduate certification in Child Brain Development from the Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential.

My experiences range greatly as a Preschool Special Education Paraprofessional, Kindergarten Assistant and Math/Reading Interventionist. Prior to my professional career I volunteered for many years as the parent liaison for both ABC International Montessori and Benilde-Saint Margaret’s High School.

I’m so HAPPY to be here and getting to know all of the families.

I live in Minneapolis with my husband and two high school teenagers. Our oldest is in her senior year in college in California. I have a B.A. in Early Childhood Family Education and a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Special Education. I started with The Berry Patch in 2011 and have 25+ years of experience working with young children. I enjoy teaching the Strawberries and am amazed on a daily basis of how capable, creative, funny, and smart they are! The Berry Patch is the most fun, loving and caring school in which I have ever worked.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Berry Patch Family and to be a Strawberry Teacher this year. I have a genuine interest in Child Development as well as a heart for being a positive influence in children’s and families’ lives. I am energized by the desire of the Berry Patch team, to meet each child where they are, learning and growing as we stay curious and aware. My educational background includes a degree in Psychology from the University of St Thomas and a degree in Elementary Education with a preprimary focus at Crown College. I have taught Kindergarten in the Chaska area and have been involved in the Schools in District 112 for many years as a parent and an educator. I love running with my dog and spending time with my family and am excited for the upcoming school year.

I have loved teaching strawberries at The Berry Patch since 2010! It makes me happy to see the children growing and learning while having fun! It’s a wonderful place to be! I graduated from the College of St. Benedict with an Elementary Education degree and taught many years in both the Edina and Eden Prairie Schools. When I’m not teaching I love going to my cabin in Park Rapids, reading, and spending time with my family and our two Cavalier King Charles spaniels.
