One of the things that we are most excited about with our Music Program this year are our monthly Guest Musicians. During October we had Doug DeGrood and Paul James teach each of our classes about the trumpet and shared their talent with us as they played and we sang and dance. This month we will be visited by Darin Anderson, a professional Cellist with the Minnesota Sinfonia Orchestra. We are so blessed to meet these fantastic musicians share their love of music and their particular instrument with all of our berries!
Children Serving Others
You will be receiving information in your child’s backpack about Washburn Center for Children, whose mission is to nurture every child and family’s well-being and full potential through transformative children’s mental health care. We will be coming alongside this fantastic organization to gather art supplies for Washburn’s Play-Based Therapy. We encourage your family to get involved with this opportunity we have to show our berries from a young age what it looks like to reach out beyond ourselves to care for others!

We will be celebrating all the joy of December together with our first annual Family Holiday Celebrations. Parents are WELCOME to join us for three festive activities with your child’s class. They will be meeting some very special Llamas, caroling with our friend Darin Anderson playing cello, and a visit with Santa for cookies and cheer. Your attendance is welcome but certainly not required. It will be a very fun morning just before our Winter Break!
We are grateful for the all the ways our school community comes together- as parents join us for special events, as we welcome guests from the community to inspire us with their music, and as we share with organizations serving children around our city!
With Deep Gratitude,
Molly Lounsberry Dykstra
