May Director’s Newsletter

May 3, 2021

It is hard to believe that we are down to our final four weeks of the school year! Wow. It’s been a school year we willl never forget– where we all felt the GIFT of our berries being together like never before. Our teachers have been INCREDIBLE in adapting and pouring into your children as they have fostered independence and friendship and curiosity, all of the things that create a solid foundation for a LOVE OF LEARNING. You, as parents, have been so supportive and encouraging, flexing right along with us as we’ve wound our way through this Pandemic while keeping the Berry Patch train running on it’s tracks. THANK YOU! A few items for you for this month and looking ahead.

Thank you for sending your children to school ready for messy and outdoor play! There is so much exploring going on outside. Our Strawberries at Colonial were even able to plant a tree with a Colonial church member who works on the grounds. I’ve seen nature hunts, golf practice, LOTS of stick collecting, tons of sidewalk chalk, mud mixing, bug hunting, and lots of running around. There’s nothing quite like seeing a little line of berries coming in from outside all flush-cheeked and excited about what they’ve seen and done!

School pictures will be delivered to both locations by the end of next week. Be on the lookout– I had a sneak preview and they are ADORABLE!

We have a VERY special morning planned for our Strawberry classes as we mark this moment in their lives and say goodbye as they head off to their next adventure. Your child’s teacher will give you details on timing for their class for the morning of Thursday, May 27th. This will be the last day of school for all Strawberries.

Our camps are full and planning is underway for a great summer at The Berry Patch. If your child is registered for Session 1, Session 2, or Jamberries you will receive information regarding what to bring, drop off and pick up procedures, etc. the week before camp begins. Your child will be receiving their official Camp Sizzleberry t-shirt and information from their camp ‘counselor’ the first day of camp.

Our comprehensive online Student Form must be submitted by Friday, May 21st. Thank you to many of you who have submitted yours! You will also need to submit an up-to-date Health Care Summary and Immunization Record from your child’s Pediatrician by June 30th. Click below for Student Information Form:

DUE MAY 21st!

We are looking ahead to a wonderful month together celebrating all the goodness of this school year. Thank you for joining us!
