March Director’s Newsletter

March 1, 2021

We have had another WONDERFUL month at The Berry Patch!

Our Strawberries are getting so OLD– they are ready for their next step as Kindergartners– the direction following, involved conversations, and leadership development in the classroom are all incredible to see.

Our Blueberries are looking up at those Strawberries and they are READY TOO! The Blueberries are showing massive growth in concentration, depth of questions, and cooperative play.

And our sweet Huckleberries are not even toddlers anymore. They are sharing and connecting and are increasingly independent with clean up and classroom routines. These truly are magical years of growth and development.

This Spring (March-May)

Classes will be spending as much time as possible outside. While there is still some snow on the ground, go ahead and pull out your child’s rainboots and raincoat. We are going to be heading out into the mud and puddles soon! Be sure your child is prepared for outdoor play even if it is sprinkling outside. As always, please dress your child for messy play. Both of our schools have wonderful natural play areas with lots of dirt, wood chips, and sand for exploring. We will be out in it this spring!

Camp Sizzleberry registration has been tremendous! Both of our Camp Sessions as well as Jamberries are full at this time. We do have a wating list and will reach out ASAP should there be openings. Be sure to register HERE if you would like to be on the waiting list. Session 1 fees will be included on your April invoice and will be due April 10. Session 2 fees will be included on your May invoice and will be due May 10. We can’t wait!

Classes for the 2021-22 school are nearly full as well. We have a limited number of Huckleberry and Raspberry spaces remaining and waiting lists for our Strawberry and Blueberry classes. We are excited to have a wonderful group of new families joining us next year. Your March invoice included your September tuition. If you have any questions regarding your tuition for next fall please reach out to Carrie Lounsberry before March 8th. Your September tuition is non-refundable, with the exception of a family move or Pandemic related adjustments. We are already working on great initiatives with our classroom spaces, gearing up for the hopeful return of lunch bunch and afternoon enrichment activities, and leaning in to new staff development as we model our own LOVE OF LEARNING as teachers and administrators.

We miss those of you who are away on vacation! Whether near or far, enjoy this spring-around-the-corner days. They are full of all the magic our berries are built for.

As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or great ideas– don’t hesititate to reach out to me. I love connecting with you all.
