Attending Camp Sizzle Berry is an exciting way for current students, incoming students and children who live in the area, to enjoy a dynamic summer experience. This camp is staffed by our exceptional teachers who love and nurture children throughout the school year and look forward to creating new, fun programs for the summer. Camp Sizzle Berry is designed to engage children in a variety of fun, creative activities based on themes. The camps are 2 weeks in length T/W/TH from 9-12 and are offered at both Edina locations. We welcome all children ages 2-5 (must be potty trained). This summer we’re excited to offer the following sessions:
Session I: FUN WITH FOOD: June 1-3 & 8-10
Sizzle Berry Campers turn into little chefs for the day in our fun filled cooking school. Kid friendly recipes will help children follow directions, measure and be creative with food. Have you ever painted with spaghetti or stamped with broccoli? We will incorporate popular books and edible crafts into each day. Children will have fun learning about the food groups and healthy food choices through games and songs. Your child will be delighted to take home a chef’s hat and some easy recipes to share with friends and family. So roll up your sleeves and get ready for some finger licking FUN!
Session II: TELL ME A STORY: June 15-17 & June 29 –July 1
Once upon a time…and more! Of course we will have exciting authors and great books to share each day with our Sizzle Berry campers, but this camp will go beyond simply reading stories, to introducing your child to the art of storytelling. Puppets, songs and play acting will make stories come alive and give your children the tools and skills to tell their own stories. Your little storytellers will also have a lot of fun writing and illustrating their very own books to take home. And they will all live happily ever after...
Session III: MARVELOUS ME: July 6-8 & 13- 15
Marvelous me, is all about YOU! This is a child focused camp where your little camper is the “star”. My body, My feelings, My family and Taking care of ME are all topics we will explore in fun and creative ways. Can you paint with your elbows or toes? How much can you stretch and grow? We’ll also learn about simple hygiene, our five senses, the digestive system and healthy eating. We will spend time moving our bodies with some new games, activities and exercises. Why? Because you are Marvelous!
Session IV: Little Time Travelers: July 20-22 & 27-29
History comes alive as we magically travel through time in this action packed camp. We will visit Noah’s Ark, and learn about the Kings, Queens of old. Campers will experience early America and the Wild West. Then we will top off our history travels by stopping in today, 2010, and use our imaginations to travel into the future. We will keep your little campers engaged in learning with games, music, costumes and fun activities. So get on board our Sizzle Berry Time Machine and... Ready, Set GO!
